29-Apr-2004: Update

There was a great turnout for the meeting at the Cumberland Bay Fire hall on Monday, April 26th. 98 people attended.

We set up a networking system to provide quick access to information for all who live, work and camp around the lake.

Volunteers will display updates in public places in:

• Minto
• Coal Creek and Cumberland Bay
• Young’s Cove and Waterborough
• Chipman and Jemseg
• Douglas Harbour and Princess Park
• Lakeville Corner o Fredericton

We formed groups on (a) Waste, leachate and runoff, (b) wetlands and habitat, (c) fish, (d) transportation, (e) liners, to pool our knowledge and develop questions about our concerns

Everyone was strongly encouraged to send letters to politicians right away. They can only act on our behalf if they know our concerns.

What Next? Meet at the Cumberland Bay Fire Hall on Monday, May 3rd at 7 pm to discuss what we do next.
